Madhur Matka panel chart - Day of Giving

Madhur Matka (Maharishi MSS) is an award winning Indian Monthly Magazine. It is written by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Jyotika SAR Manjishtha. The magazine is published twice a month and comes out after the Rajya Yoga Journal. It has been in circulation for the past fifteen years. The Magazine has many pages of original articles and has many sections on Health, Lifestyle, Education, Home, and Religion.

The Madhur day panel chart is on the first page. This chart depicts the monthly popularity of the various deities that are worshiped in India. For example, Durga Puja is celebrated on the 3rd day of Magh (January) and Ashuswami (Shiva) on the 7th day of Bhaj (February). The other important sections of the magazine include Health, Lifestyle, Education, Home, and Religion.

The Mad hur day panel chart of Sabyasaachi Mukherjee Jyotika Samskari (January) shows the progress of the Hindu goddess Durga Puja throughout the year. Durga Puja is one of the most popular festivals of India and is celebrated with great devotion all over the country. In this chart, the goddess Durga is seated on a golden pot that is adorned with flowers. A portion of this pot has been covered with gold leaf and the portion on which the goddess is seated is colored gold.

The Mad Hur day panel chart of Sattva Mukherjee Jyotika Samskari (March) is another example of devotional items being used to celebrate the Hindu festival of Sattva. The Madur Purnima Yatra is celebrated with much devotion and affection by millions of Hindus across the country and it is celebrated with great pomp and grandeur by the people of Andhra Pradesh. In this panel, the lord Krishna is seen sitting on a chariot pulled by oxen. He is being chauffeured by a group of palace servants who crown this chariot with red and green pennant that is festooned with lights. The pennants of Andhra Pradesh are known to be rich in colors as they are usually made of gold, silver and jewels. The main features of this pennant include the two-toned golden yellow color that signify prosperity and abundance and the pink and blue colors that mean 'serenity and joy'.

The Madur Purnima Yatra and Sattva Mukherjee Jyotika Samskari (months) are other significant events in the calendar. During Sattva, the lord Krishna rides deer into the house of Vrindhavan where the cowherds feed him with alms. The Madur Purnima Yatra is held at the close of the Hindu month of Magadh (January), where the whole city comes alive with a huge atmosphere of joy and celebration. It is one of the most popular festivals in India that marks the end of the Hindu month of Magadh and the arrival of the elated lord Krishna in South India.

In the tradition of Lord Krishna, there are much serene dancing and music. All the devotees, both the family members and the friends, form a large procession which slowly negotiates the length of the path of the lord Krishna. After reaching the place where the lord is, the people proceed to sit on the dais where the lord is seated and blessed by him with sweetmeats and lotus flowers. All those on the path of the lord bow down to pray for the long-term boon of the lord Krishna and take the anointing oil with them so that they can protect themselves and the near and dear ones from the destructive wrath of the lord.
